To see the live-streamed services from our church, you will need to go to the "St Joseph's Church, Upton" channel on YouTube (click here to go to the channel). When you reach the channel you will see a series of thumbnails representing the previously streamed services. If a service is currently being streamed, the first thumbnail in the list will have a label in a red box saying "Live". To watch the livestream, click on this thumbnail. Streaming is usually started about 20 minutes before the start of the service. If the "Live" thumbnail is not showing, please try again closer to the start time of the service.

The team can deliver essential groceries, drop off/collect prescriptions at surgeries and pharmacies, and post mail as well as have a friendly chat on the phone.

Please contact Pete Graham (07505 355559) or Kevin Powell (07770 611488) if you need help from the team, or if you would like to help.

Upcoming Events

Sunday Masses

The numbers attending our Masses on Sundays is increasing, and we are still trying to maintain social distancing so that every one feels safe in church. So that stewards do not have to turn away people when the church is full, we are asking everyone to register for Sunday Masses from the 11th April onward. There are several ways you can register:

  • You can register with the Stewards at Masses the previous Sunday, or during the week
  • You can register on-line on this web site (select "Information" and then "Book for Mass")
  • You can e-mail your requirements to the Parish (
  • You can telephone Carmel Calvert (678 7019)

If your plans change after you have registered, and you will not be attending Mass, please let us know so that your place can be allocated to someone else.

Registering is not required for weekday Masses.

All Masses will continue to be live-streamed.

Sunday Collection

Boxes of offertory envelopes for 2021-22 are available at the back of church for those who normally receive them.

Please click here for information on the options available if you wish to change your existing arrangements.

For those Parishioners who are not attending Mass and normally give in the collection, to continue to help the Parish in these difficult times, you can now give on line, either as a one off payment or as a regular monthly payment, by clicking here. Please note that the minimum amount that can be donated is £5.

Celebrating Mass Safely

While local and National Public Health restrictions have been largely removed, we still have quite high numbers of infections. It is important that we continue to play our part in keeping Covid-19 under control.

  • If you test positive for Covid-19, please do not come into church,
  • If someone you have been in close contact with tests positive for Covid-19, and you are fully vaccinated, you longer need to self isolate, however, you should arrange to have a PCR test as soon as possible, please do not come into church until you have received the result of that test.
  • On arrival please sanitise your hands.
  • Always wear a face covering within church (except babies, toddlers and those who are exempt).
  • Try to maintain social distancing of 1 metre from people who are not in your household.
  • Respect the wishes of others who use the marker cards (available at the back of church) to maintain a safe distance between themselves and others.
